About the Cochrane Reviews
The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (CDSR) is part of the Cochrane Library. These peer-reviewed systematic reviews cover healthcare interventions and diagnostic tests, incorporating evidence-based medicine, randomized controlled trials, research design, and clinical research.
Cochrane reviews are indexed in MEDLINE and PubMed. Citations and abstracts are provided, but full text is not available through these databases. Some reviews may be freely available as open-access content at opens new windowwww.cochranelibrary.com, but most require a subscription or can be requested through interlibrary loan.

How to Find Cochrane Reviews in MEDLINE

To find the reviews, go to MEDLINE with Full Text and search "Cochrane database of systematic reviews."
Use the dates to drill down through the issues, then browse a specific issue (shown above) or try a keyword (shown below).

Before requesting the article from another library, search the opens new window Cochrane reviews online to see if the full text is available.
The examples below show full text is not available in the MEDLINE database and it should be requested from another library (second image below). However, the full text is available open access at Cochrane reviews.
