Company Financials

TIP: To find a company's 10-K and other SEC filings, search the web for "investor relations" and the name of the company. All publicly traded companies have a page with SEC filings and other information for investors. You can also download SEC filings from www.SEC.gov or from the Mergent or D&B Hoovers database.

Finding financials on private companies

Privately owned companies are not required to make financials public (as publicly-traded companies are). Some databases (such as opens new windowD&B Hoovers and opens new windowData Axle) calculate estimated (or modeled) financials for private companies. Sometimes an article in the trade or business press will mention revenues for a private company, but these are not verified.
