Introduction

Towards a Concept of Spirit-empowered Leadership

The mission of Oral Roberts University is to develop Spirit-empowered leaders through whole person education to impact the world. In pursuit of this goal, the faculty are exploring the relationship between the Holy Spirit and leadership in order to articulate a Spirit-empowered leadership model. Below is a bibliography of works that address the topic of the Spirit and leadership. Many of the current resources about SEL are from from a local church perspective or ministerial perspective rather academic studies. The resources identified below are divided into the following categories:

1. Leadership by Spirit-empowered leaders - This group of resources are books written by Pentecostal and Charismatic authors. These books may or may not offer a specific Holy Spirit orientation to their works.

2. Spirit-empowered leadership - These are works that have intentionally integrated the Spirit in their framework of leadership.

3. Academic Studies of Spirit-empowered Leadership - These are works by academics who are contributing to the academic understanding of leadership.

NOTE: Some of the books are not currently owned by the ORU Library. These are indicated with "Not Owned" in the call number field. Links are provided to the Amazon page. There are a number of books by Spirit-empowered leaders on Church leadership or other issues. These will be included on a separate tab.
