Innovation Station
The Innovation Station is a library space that includes educational and emerging learning technologies to provide users with a variety of immersive and creative experiences. The room offers virtual reality (VR), flight simulation, music creation, and 3D printing. These experiences provide students with fun opportunities to sharpen their skills.
Two HTC Vive and one Oculus Rift S VR headsets are available for students to experience VR.
To use VR, check out the hand controllers at the Library Service Desk. Your student ID will be held until you return the controllers.
HTC Vive Virtual Reality
Programs and games for the Vive are on the Steam platform, where you play and interact in virtual reality.
To Use:
- Check out the Vive hand controllers at the Service Desk. Your student ID will be held until you return the hand controllers.
- In the Innovation Station, match the number on the hand controller (#1 or #2) to the Vive VR system.
- You ID will be kept until you return the hand controllers.
To View and Play Programs/Games:
- Click the Steam icon.
- Click Library and select a title.
To Search and Add a Steam Game:
- Key in a subject, keyword or title.
- Limit to "free" to view& programs/games that could be added to the Library's Home list. Other limiters are available to use.
- Choose a free game from the search results. (Please feel free to contact Professor Bloom if you have a request for a course or class.)
To Add a Game: - On the descriptive game page, click "Add to library."
- Go to the Library > Home list. Click the program/game title, then click Install.

Oculus Rift S Virtual Reality
To Use:
- Check out the Oculus Rift S hand controllers from the Library Service Desk. Your student ID will be held until you return the hand controllers.
- On the Oculus Rift S computer, choose the Oculus link.
- Choose your VR program/game.

Note: VR programs/games on Oculus (Meta) VR platform may not be available on HTC Vive VR and Steam platform.
