Confused About WEPA?

One of the most popular questions at the library is, "Where can I print?" The J.D. McKean Library offers two options for your printing needs, but this blog post will focus on the WEPA printer since there are more questions asked about this printer. WEPA can seem intimidating at first, but it doesn't have to be. WEPA is best viewed as a step by step process, so let's break down your WEPA experience into 4 basic steps.

WEPA

1. DO YOU NEED TO PRINT IN COLOR OR BLACK AND WHITE?

WEPA is the only printer in the library that can print in both color and black and white.

2. WHAT FORM OF PAYMENT DOES WEPA ACCEPT?

WEPA accepts credit or debit card and EagleBucks. Note that if you are paying by card, there will be an additional fee if you do not make a $5 deposit. This $5 deposit does not expire, and you can use it throughout the entire semester, so it is probably the better of the two options unless you are sure you only will use the WEPA once. If you download the WEPA app, you will be able to upload your payment in the app. On the other hand, if you pay at the WEPA station, you will need to type in your bank card number.

 3. HOW TO UPLOAD A DOCUMENT TO WEPA?

There are 7 different ways to upload a document to the WEPA printer. When you find the method that works for you, it will become easier over time. First,   let's discuss the 7 ways to upload your document.

Traditional: For this method you can type in the following url code into your web browser: wepanow.com/printapp. Here you can login by selecting your   school (in this case ORU) and typing in your ORU email and password. You may have to register if it is your first time using this WEPA url. After you are   logged in, all you need to do is open your document and click on Document Upload. You will be able to upload your document and select the ORU Library   print option. When you go to the print station in the library, you will be able to swipe with your Eagle Card and your account will be linked to the url where   you uploaded your document.

Cloud: If you have a GoogleDrive, Office 365, Box, Dropbox, or OneDrive account, simply have your document file attached to one of those accounts, and you will be able to simply swipe at the WEPA print station which will allow you to retrieve your document and print.

D2L: If the document is on D2L, you can print directly at the WEPA station.

Email: Email your document from your ORU email to the address print@wepanow.com to simply print at the WEPA print station. You will swipe your Eagle Card, and your document should appear on the WEPA screen.

Mobile: This is a great option if you are going to be doing multiple print jobs with the WEPA over a period of time. You can download the "WEPA Print" app on your mobile device and follow the instructions. On the app, you can add your payment information and simply upload your document from your phone onto the app. There will be a little rocket button that sends your document to the WEPA print

WEB: You can also print from the web. You will need to login with your school credentials at wepanow.com/webupload and select your documents. There will be an option that says "send to wepa" and you will want to select that button.

USB: The final option for printing is to insert your USB drive at any WEPA station.

4. READY TO PRINT

After you have uploaded your document to the WEPA printer, all you need to do is go to the WEPA print station in the library. You can swipe with your ORU ID or type in the WEPA code if one of the above methods offered you a code after you uploaded your document.

THAT'S IT!

service desk

If you have any additional questions about the printing process, the individuals at the Service Desk can offer further one-on-one help with the WEPA  printer. The key to remember is that while the WEPA is challenging at first, once you do it a couple of times, you'll understand the process for printing with  WEPA. It gets easier when you do it. Also, something to keep in mind to help your print session be successful is to give yourself time. Don't wait until the l  last minute to print. Learning the printer and getting your document printed will take time. Try to budget accordingly, and you'll be thankful you did!
